The farmhouse "Il Cavicchio" agriturismo lies in the heart of Bologna hills, just outside Bologna on the way to Florence.

Il Cavicchio is conveniently located with easy access from all the major highways (autostrada) (take the Sasso Marconi or San Lazzaro exit) and you won’t even need to cross the center of the city to get here! Moreover, our farm is easily reached from the city center, both by private vehicle and public transportation. If you arrive by train at Bologna Centrale, you can catch a public bus that will drop you very close to us.

Our agriturismo is the perfect place to stay for people traveling to Bologna for tourism (turismo), in search of art, wishing to get out into nature (la natura) or who enjoy outdoor sports. For someone traveling on business, we also serve as the perfect getaway from the hectic life in the city center. The farm is a short trip to the centro citta’ (city centre) and the conference/exhibition center (fiera di Bologna).

The owners are passionate bikers (both road and mountain bikes) and hikers and can provide wonderful advice on where to ride or hike. (check out The Surrounding Region section of our website for some ideas). We can also rent mountain bikes to you, and provide you with local maps and guides to help you find your way. We can even pack you a picnic lunch.
